'No Name's-'Archangel'

This is the "Archangel". It is one of the few remaining Vanguard class mechanical armors. This happens to be "no-name's" mech. I have no clue why i drew it with a spear though. It actually uses 2 swords that are slung on the waist.

Ok, this is gonna be a bit technical with gibberish (my own BS).

In my world they use "cores" as a means to levitate. These "cores" are spherical devices put on machines to repel gravitational forces of planets. Inside the center of each sphere is a mass that is compressed at extreme pressures. Huge amounts of energy are used to compress and hold the mass inside. The energy is held in place by rings that are inscribed with magical runes. The rings do the job of holding the energy in and at the same time reversing the polarity to "levitate". The cores must be heavily armored to avoid damage. If the rings are damaged there are 2 possible outcomes. 1- The whole mass explodes and takes out everything within a mile radius like a nuclear blast. 2- The core collapses on itself and causes an implosion that sucks in the whole armor then vanishes.

The cores on these mechs are housed in the hip area where it is most heavily armored. The cockpits are in the chests.

These Vanguard class armors are very advanced. Very few people can use them. The mechs not only use manual controls but also reguire a neural link with the pilot. This link is EXTREMELY important. There can ONLY be 1 pilot to a Vanguard at a time. The only time that pilots will change is if the current pilot is killed.
These mechs also take on features of their respective pilots. They are powerful amplifiers that improve the pilots' natural talents with powers.
The Archangel has many plates of armor that can be used as weapons as well as defense. They float around the armor and block incoming attacks. It is a very effective tool.




Well enough with my explanations. As you can see, i have put ALOT of thought into these things to make them MY OWN.

I am astonished this is getting as many favorites as it is.....it seems to be the only thing of mine that gets any.....LOL. Out of any of my stuff it just kind of surprises me. Something tells me I should do an updated version of this.... The proportions alone make me want to cringe...

I want to take this down sooooo badly, but that is the artist in me talking. That little voice that hates anything that is an older work. And believe me, this is one of my oldest pictures on this gallery. This was made when I was in my first semester of school and did not know much about technique. Before you leave this picture and go on your merry way, please view the rest of my work. I figure I will leave this little message here because this seems to be the work that gets the most attention.
